About Desiree
Desiree De Spong was born and raised in Dunedin, New Zealand and is in her second decade of working in complimentary medicine and education.
Initially trained in Zen Shiatsu, Desiree was introduced to Chapman Reflexes (an osteopathic view on lymphatics) while studying Ortho-Bionomy, this course lead her to a great interest in the lymphatic system. After investing in the holistic instrument called the Lymphstar Pro®, she began a quest for knowledge that would take her around the world. After travelling to the United States to train with Allen Mills at the Centre for Lymphatic Health, Santa Barbara, Desiree began to develop her proficiency in Lymphatic Decongestive Therapy. Desiree returned to the US to study with Cory Carter from Alt Med Services, South Dakota. She has also trained in Manual Lymphatic Drainage with Jill Griffiths from the Weller Institute in Australia. She is currently the only New Zealander who is American trained in this specialised modality.
Desiree has since developed Lymphatic Enhancement Technology in conjunction with Arcturus Star Products (the makers of the Lymphstar Pro®) and has been appointed their accredited International Trainer. Desiree completed her Adult Learning and Teaching at the Bay of Plenty Polytechnic, Tauranga, NZ and now runs regular training seminars in both the USA and New Zealand. Her first USA class in Arizona 2010 was acclaimed a great success.
Desiree was awarded a research fellowship with Flinders University, Adelaide and completed a trial alongside Professor Neil Pillar, into the benefits of the mild frequency vibration to the chest, axilla and arm in patients with clinically diagnosed arm lymphoedema secondary to breast cancer surgery in November 2010.
Working in this field since 2004, Desiree has had the opportunity to work many health conditions and has had successful results treating many health issues ranging from detoxification to auto-immune conditions. Desiree has been working alongside many health professionals to promote this integrative modality which works supports both medical and complimentary medicines.
Desiree currently has a clinic at Johns Photo Pharmacy, cnr Cameron Road and Second Avenue in Tauranga, New Zealand.
About Lorna
Lorna was born in Dunfermline, Scotland but throughout her life has had the opportunity to travel and reside in various countries.
Lorna initially trained as a complementary therapist in 2005, specialising in massage, aromatherapy and reflexology. After arriving into New Zealand in 2007 and subsequently meeting with Desiree and exchanging treatments, Lorna was then introduced to the techniques of Lymphatic Enhancement Technology. After several sessions Lorna could see the potential of this therapy playing a complimentary role in her work and when given the opportunity to join Aetiology in 2009, she accepted this role. Lorna has completed all levels of training currently available in Lymphatic Enhancement Technology and works closely with Desiree to ensure that clients are provided an individualised treatment plan for their condition.
Lorna currently works alongside Desiree at Aleda Health Clinic.
